Nature Baby Names

They are simple, evocative, and downright beautiful. Today we love names inspired by planet Earth as much as the flappers of the roaring twenties and peace-loving hippies. They have matured beyond any one stereotype and hit a sweet spot for a wild variety of tastes. Consider the classic Rose, the trendy Aspen, the vintage Ruby, the free-spirited Meadow, or the glittering Star, and you'll agree that there's a nature name for everyone under the sun.

Below you'll find Earth Names, Plants, Flower and Tree Names, Spice Names, and Gem Names. A lot of these names are unisex, so use your imagination and enjoy!

  7. I love nature names their beautiful. My girl name at the moment is Rose I think it's beautiful. I'm beginning to love Sage and Willow - Willow for a girl and Sage for either sex - I prefer traditional nature names but it's interesting seeing a mix so thank you.

  8. Don't forget nature names from other cultures, too. My daughter's first and middle names, Kaia Haneul, are Hawaiian ("sea/ocean") and Korean ("sky/heavens").

  15. I love all of these names, what is funny is my daughters are named Georgia (vintage), Gemma (nature), and Harriet (pioneer)! My name is Rose, so I of course suggest that for a flower name!

    1. Thanks for the suggestion! I added it to the list. It's practically mandatory after The Hunger Games, of course.
